Having hit a nice 11/1 winner yesterday, 2nd, 2nd, & 3rd places. We’re hoping for a continuation today at Aintree for Bobby James!
Aintree 17:15 Winner
Disappointing at Cheltenham when he fell three from home, but has Paul Townsend back for the ride who had been the jockey in two of this three wins before the Gold Cup, jockey in good form with five winners in last fortnight.
Aintree 13:45 Winner
RED INDIAN has the look of a horse with plenty more to offer and this will only be the 6-y-o’s 10th race. After making a winning bumper debut back in 2015, Ben Pauling’s charge has set new personal best figures in 6 of his next 8 races and that sits alongside a gradual step up in distance. There was every indication in the Coral Cup that further would suit (staying on in 6th) and it is difficult to foresee anything other than a big effort in this competitive handicap.
Aintree 14:25 Winner
Looking for a horse with improvement still to come and Greatrex’s son of Westerner fits the bill at decent odds. Raced for first time beyond the 2m mark when 2nd of 6 at Hunt in Feb from a mark of 146. Held up and ridden to get the trip he showed that 2m 4f was not an issue and could probably be ridden closer to the oace next time. However, he was then dropped back to 2m at Chelt and finished 6/19 after being hampered, but again looked like a beast that needs further. Good form lines with improving horses (beat Betway winner Lalor 2L at Chelt) and with a 1lb lower mark and champion jockey on top I feel there is plenty to like about a sharp 2m4f on testing going for Western Ryder to build on.
Aintree 15:00 Each Way
Distance winner Kauto Riko has been first past the post on his last three starts and although this is a jump in class he could be worth a nibble at 28/1 e/w to pick up some place money.
Aintree 15:40 Winner
Champion jockey R Johnson on board. Won 67% of all chases to date. Thats a combo that knows how to be at the business end of a race.
