Todays Racing tips for Aintree, from Bobby James.
13:45 Who Dares Wins (2nd)
If Cheltenham has not left it’s mark then Who Dares Wins has a very good chance of running a big race with a good result. Soft ground holds no bars and the stable looks to be ticking over nicely. The handicapper is not risking anything and kept him on the same mark of 149. This being a flat track his flat speed could be his strong hand and can use this in at the finish.
14:20 Vision Des Flos (2nd)
This 5yo is the 2nd highest rated horse in the field. The times here on day 1 were slow and it must be a positive that this horse has won on heavy ground when slamming the favourite by 31 lengths in a facile success. Found the extra distance at Cheltenham too far last time out and a return to around 2 miles looks ideal.
14:50 Elegant Escape (3rd)
Elegant Escape was a 150,000 euro purchase finding only Samcro too good in his point-to-point in April 2016 and looked another exciting addition to the Tizzard’s team judged by victories at Chepstow and Ascot for the yard. All results over hurdles were just a bonus as the Dubai Destination’s gelding looked always a chaser in the making. Grade 2 winner at Newbury and second in Grade 1 at Kempton, delivered a great performance in the RSA when third to Presenting Percy at the festival. Likes cut in the ground, jumps well and he’s improving, nice odds for an each way go.
15:25 Politologue – 11/1 WINNER!!
Politologue would have won at this festival last year but for falling at the last and can make amends here. He is one that will improve for the trip as he was caught for pace in the Champion Chase. He jumps well and the race might be set up for him.
16:05 Top Gamble
Top Gamble could be the top horse to have a gamble on, he was sixth in the Milling Chase here last year behind Fox Norton and this year at Cheltenham he came third behind Le Prezien and the poor fellow got hampered a couple of times and with a clear run here he could be fighting out the finish.
